Renovation Towards 103 Schools Expected to Be Completed This Year

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission E hoped renovation towards 103 school buildings that will spend Rp 1.7 trillion, could be completed by the end of this year.

"Fund for school renovation is about Rp 1.7 trillion. It has been discussed and set in Jakarta APBD, surely it should be absorbed 100 percent until the end of this year," expressed Ramly HI Muhammad, Vice Chief of Jakarta DPRD Commission E, Friday (6/2). 

If the project is not on time, he stated, it will have an impact on the students.

103 Schools in Jakarta Undergo Total Renovation

"Therefore there must be cooperation between related units to resolve sudden problem. The problem is like asset mechanism abolition from school building prior to renovation," he said.

Similar statement also comes Ashraf Ali, a member of Jakarta DPRD Commission E. He stated, besides on time, renovation must also be qualified.

"Considering it will spend a lot of money, so it must be able to be accountable to residents. Thus, in future, they can feel comfortable during the teaching and learning activities (KBM)," he finished.
